WCS Gender Equality Policy
WCS is committed to promoting gender equality, fairness, and inclusivity within the camelids sports environment. As a leading federation in the global camelids sports community, WCS strives to foster an environment where individuals of all genders can participate, excel, and contribute to the growth of this ancient and evolving sport. Gender inclusivity is at the heart of our organizational values, and we are dedicated to providing equal opportunities for all genders in every facet of camelids sports, both on and off the track. This includes administration and leadership roles. Historically, camelids sports, particularly camel racing, has been male-dominated, but as societal norms evolve, so does the involvement of women and marginalized gender groups. This policy outlines the principles and actions WCS takes to ensure gender inclusivity within camelids sports
Purpose and Objectives of the Policy
The primary aim of this policy is to define and promote WCS’s commitment to gender equality across all areas of camelids sports. Key objectives include:
1. Ensuring equal opportunities for all genders in leadership, participation in sports, training, and event organization.
2. Fostering a respectful and supportive environment that recognizes and values diverse gender identities.
3. Ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of all participants.
WCS Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility Policy
The World Camelids Sports (WCS) is committed to the responsible development and growth of camelids sports as a global sport. As we expand the sport's reach, we acknowledge the need to incorporate sustainability and environmental responsibility into all aspects of our operations. This ensures that camelids sports can continue to thrive, grow, and develop for future generations without compromising the welfare of camelids or the environment. WCS aligns its sustainability practices with global standards, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) sustainability principles. By adopting these principles, we not only protect the sport but also ensure that our activities are conducted with minimal environmental impact and maximum social and economic benefits.
Principles of Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility
WCS’s sustainability and environmental responsibility commitments are grounded in the following principles:
- Environmental Responsibility: Reducing the environmental impact of camelids sports activities, including minimizing waste, lowering carbon emissions, and conserving resources.
- Sport Development: Promoting the growth of camelids sports worldwide, with a focus on increasing participation, accessibility, and inclusivity across all regions.
- Animal Welfare: Ensuring the ethical treatment of camelids, including providing proper veterinary care and humane training practices.
