Title of the First World Championship for International Camel Endurance “Saudi”

Media Committee - AlUla: Today, Saturday, His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, President of the International Camel Federation, crowned the Saudi Camel Team with the title of the First World Camel Endurance Championship for men and women, on the grounds of the Al-Ula Camel Field, which was held in partnership with the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate. The Saudi camels dominated the first three places and the championship cups in the race in the first and second rounds, with Faris Al-Juhani taking first place with a time of 15:54.274 minutes riding the mount “Bayan,” and Nayef Al-Faydi taking second place with a time of 32:05.847 minutes riding “Manadi.” And Sulaiman Al-Huwaiti placed third with a time of 32:11.607 minutes riding the mount “Moteb.” At the women's level, Saudi Arabian horsewoman Kholoud Al-Shammari took first place with her mount "Jabbar" with a time of 36:59.918 minutes, while second place went to Jordanian horsewoman Rawan Samer with a time of 37:08.521 minutes, and German horsewoman Jana with a time of 44:09.718 minutes. Hijjars representing 20 countries participated in the tournament, with a distance of 16 kilometers, two stages, each stage 8 kilometers long and a 30-minute break. From the first stage, 20 men and 15 women qualified for the final stage, and the final results are calculated on the sum of the best time for the two stages. Men and women are allowed to participate. The total prize pool for the tournament reached more than two million riyals, with the men’s results being calculated separately and the women’s results separately. The winner of first place in the men’s category received an amount of 500,000 riyals and the same amount for women, while the rest of the amounts were distributed among 10 winners in the men’s category and 10 female winners in the tournament.
